Featuring:  Gavin Duerson, Fellowship of Christian Athletes

Central Kentucky Area Director

Born and raised in Berea, KY, Gavin attended the University of Kentucky from 1996-1999, where he served as the UK "Wildcat" mascot and was able to travel with both the basketball and football teams to numerous historic victories, including the basketball team's 1998 national title.  Gavin and his wife, Carla, have three children.  He has served as Central Kentucky Area Director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for nearly 10 years.

 

Gavin visits area public schools and universities on a daily basis, encouraging and ministering to students, coaches, and teachers.  He frequently speaks at schools, colleges, FCA clubs, churches, business groups, youth camps and retreats.  He uses these opportunities in an effort to reach students and adults with the love, purpose and hope that God has for them.

Featuring:  Roger McCurry, Christian magician and humorist

Roger, minister of activities and senior adults at Severns Valley Baptist Church in Elizabethtown, Ky, uses magic and humor to share the love of Christ with folks.  Born in Ashville, NC., he has served churches full-time in the areas of recreation and senior adults for 26 years.  He has served as past president of the Kentucky Baptist Recreation Ministers, conference leader and been a member of the Louisville Magic Club Ring 64 and the Sports Reach board of directors.  He is married to Dona, and they have two children.  His desire has been to use magic and humor as tools to help others enter into a personal relationship with Christ and to become fully-devoted followers of Him.
